Nathaniel Holiday's Journey from Banking to Empowering Entrepreneurs
Nathaniel Holiday’s journey began in banking, where he spent over 20 years in business development and financial services. As the owner of SMG Financial, he has dedicated his career to helping entrepreneurs and small business owners achieve profitability and growth.
Nathaniel has a proven track record, managing a commercial lending department that generated $450 million annually and overseeing a mortgage division that produced over $66 million in quarterly revenue.
Recognized by various non-profits, including the Business-to-Business Organization of New Jersey and the National Rotary Club in Matawan-Aberdeen, Nathaniel served as Rotary Club President in 2010-2011 and has been involved with several boards, including Michael’s Feat in Monmouth County.
Career Milestones
- 1997: After serving as a Banking Coordinator at the Federal Reserve in Pittsburgh, Nathaniel moved to New Jersey as a Senior Retail Banking Manager. There, he discovered his passion for supporting small businesses, winning top sales awards in commercial and mortgage lending.
- 2004: He advanced to a Senior Retail Banking Manager role at one of the world’s largest banks but soon realized he needed to establish his own business to better serve entrepreneurs.
- 2016: Nathaniel founded SMG, focusing on digital marketing for small businesses. In its first year, SMG helped over 15,000 businesses nationwide, prompting it to expand further.
- 2017: Drawing from his experience training over 3,500 employees, Nathaniel integrated multiple lending products into SMG and rebranded it as SMG Financial, creating a one-stop shop for business owners.
- 2018: SMG Financial offers a comprehensive lending platform, enabling clients to provide various services, including commercial loans, residential mortgages, credit repair, and digital marketing.
- 2020: The company launched a mortgage license certification program for aspiring brokers. Nathaniel emphasizes the importance of skill development, allowing partners to focus on running their businesses while SMG Financial supports their operations.
- 2024: SMG Financial has also opened our very first Shopify Store called SMG Financial Academy, so we could expand our products and services to a larger audience around the world. In addition, SMG Financial will be working exponentially in creating Business to Business Network Groups in all 50 states to accommodate our partners around the world.
- 2025 : Entrepreneurs will now have the opportunity to obtain a Mortgage Brokers License and Commercial Loan Broker License through our Shopify Store and have the opportunity to purchase all of our Items with the SMG Financial Brand.
